26th September 2024 - The Tower Lodge No. 5159 - Freemasons Hall Double Initiation & 60 Year Certificate Presentation. On Thursday 26th September The Tower Lodge No. 5159 are holding a very special meeting. Following the double initiation of two Lewises in April 2024, The Tower Lodge are performing another double initiation in September this year - The candidates are family brothers, soon to be fraternal brothers! After this wonderful ceremony, the secretary of the Lodge, W. Bro. Gerald Alterman, SLGR, is to be presented with a 60 year long service certificate by the Assistant Metropolitan Grand Master, V.W. 5th October 2024 - Lewisham Lodge No. 2579 - Freemasons Hall Double Initiation of Unsponsored Candidates. On Saturday 5th October Lewisham Lodge No. 2579 are performing a double initiation of 2 unsponsored candidates. This follows on from what has been a hugely successful 18 months for the Lodge, having brought in 3 new cadidates during this period, all of whom are in their early twenties - A fantastic achievement. 3rd December 2024 - Annuntio Lodge No. 5539 - Freemasons Hall 50 Year Certificate Presentation. On Tuesday 3rd December, the Metropolitan Grand Inspector will be atending Annuntio Lodge No. 5539 to present a long service certificate to W. Bro. Graham Hall, SLGR, to mark 50 years in Craft Freemasonry - Exactly 50 years from the date he was initiated, on 3rd December 1974. Congratulations on reaching that fantastic milestone Graham. 13th May 2024 - Freemasons Hall MetGM / MetGSupt Investiture R.W. Bro. Warren Duke PJGW, Deputy Metropolitan Grand Master, was installed as the 4th R.W. Metropolitan Grand Master and M.E. Metropolitan Grand Superintendent on the afternoon of Monday 13 May 2024. The installing officer was the M.W. Pro Grand Master / M.E. Pro First Grand Principal Jonathan Spence, DL. Proceedings commenced with Metropolitan Grand Chapter at 2.00 pm and after a short break, continued with the Craft Installation. After the formal proceedings a drinks reception was held at 6.30 pm, followed by a wonderful dinner in the Grand Connaught Rooms. It was a truly fantastic day, so well supported by a near full Grand Temple of London Freemasons.
22nd May 2024 - Hercules Pillars Public House London Air Ambulance "Up Against Time" Charity Dinner The Morley Inspectorate held a Charity dinner in aid of the Up Against Time, London Air Ambulance appeal on Wednesday 22nd May. The event was 72 persons strong who were entertained by 4 very special speakers at the Hercules Pillars. The event started with a talk on "Freemasonry & the Development of Forensics" by W. Bro. Mike Neville before the dinner, which was opened by R.W. Bro. Christopher Hayward, at 7.00pm. We were then delighted to hear a talk from one of the original London Air Ambulance Pilots, W. Bro. Richard Shuttleworth, followed by a motivational talk from Lord Lingfield. The evening was rounded off in fine style by our special guest W. Bro. Jim Davidson. Overall, with the donations made by the Lodges who were present at the event plus the monies pledged at the auction, a final total of £13,610.00 was raised. A great night had by all!
